New CWA President, Viv Williams

Founded in 1923, the Glen Innes branch of the Country Women’s Association has been supporting
local women and families for more than a century — and it’s still going strong.

The branch is now keen to welcome new members. “It would be really great to increase the number
of members,” said Secretary Catherine Donald. “We’d love to meet women new to Glen Innes who
may not be familiar with the CWA. Come and have a chat!”

At the recent AGM on 13 October, a new executive team was elected: Vivienne Williams
(President), Michelle Shumack(Vice-President), Catherine Donald (Secretary) and Maxene
Freudenberg (Treasurer).

Anyone interested in joining or finding out more can contact Viv Williams on 0474 819 390 or
Catherine Donald on 0427 240 128. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at
10:30am at the Uniting Church Hall, 70 Macquarie Street, Glen Innes.
