The Glen Innes High School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) works to bring staff, students, parents, and the wider community into close collaboration. Our purpose is to assist in providing facilities and equipment, while also promoting the recreation and welfare of students at our local public high school.
Over the past three years, the GIHS P&C has proudly partnered with the school and local community groups — including the Glen Innes Men’s Shed and Glen Innes Junior Cricket — with the generous support of the White Rock Community Fund and Cricket Australia. Together, these collaborations have led to significant upgrades to the GIHS cricket nets and the Performance Arts Centre, which now features a grand piano.
Each year, the GIHS P&C contributes financial support alongside many valued community organisations, including the Glen Innes Magpies Old Boys, Glen Innes Services Club, Glen Innes Rotary, Glen Innes Lions, Highland Lioness Club, Glen Innes Leos, Glen Innes & District Services Club, Glen Innes Touch, and Glen Innes Netball. This support enables students to represent the school at regional, state, and national levels.
Relieving Principal Natalie Hill said “Glen Innes High School is proud to have such a strong and active partnership with our Parents and Citizens Association. The P&C plays an invaluable role in supporting our students’ learning, wellbeing, and extracurricular opportunities. Through their dedication and commitment, they help ensure our young people have access to resources, facilities, and experiences that make a real difference.
Together, we are building a supportive and connected school community — one where staff, parents, and local organisations work side by side to help students thrive. We encourage everyone in our community to get behind the P&C’s upcoming fundraising initiatives, as every contribution directly supports our students and helps create opportunities that foster excellence, pride, and belonging.”
Academically, the P&C supported the Science and Engineering Team of 32 Year 9/10 students to attend the State Finals in Newcastle, where they placed 21st in NSW. We also proudly assisted our Year 12 Physics students to attend an excursion to the Sliding Springs Observatory, offering a unique, hands-on learning experience.
GIHS athletes continue to achieve outstanding results. Over the past three years, teams have been Champion or Runner-Up in the North West region across multiple sports — including Rugby League (Opens and U14), U15 Netball, Open Boys and Girls Touch, and Year 7/8 Boys and Girls Touch. We are also exceptionally proud of Kayden Elliott, our National and State medalist in Cross Country and Athletics. These opportunities often involve travel and accommodation costs, which the P&C and local groups have helped fund to ensure all students can participate.
Our creative and agricultural students have also benefited from P&C support, with participants representing GIHS at the School Spectacular in Sydney and at the Royal Easter Show.
The GIHS P&C deeply values our strong community partnerships that help provide these opportunities for the youth of Glen Innes.
We are currently running two fundraising campaigns to continue supporting our students in their academic, sporting, and creative pursuits:
New England Peony Fundraiser $25 a bunch
Order by 31 October and collect your bunch of beautiful peonies on Friday 7 November.

Hillview Real Christmas Tree Fundraiser $140- $160.
Order by 28 November and collect your tree on Tuesday 2 December.
Your support helps ensure our young people have access to the experiences and opportunities they deserve, fostering excellence and strengthening our community.
