WHAT A DAY!
What a day indeed!
New England Heritage Traction Club held their first Open Day for the Historic Glen Innes Brickworks. The public voiced their appreciation that ‘someone’ had finally taken on the project. Some attendees had worked there in the past eg; Mick, Keith, Vaughan, Mark, Rusty and Jim. John Marr was the previous licensee of the property and took guided tours. Belting Out Bricks video was viewed by many.
Raffles were popular: first prize winner was Victoria Kennedy, Cindy Sillick won second prize while Noel Ryan won third prize. Businesses in Glen Innes must be thanked for their generosity in donating for the raffles. Velquip, Mitre 10, Club Hotel, Glen Innes Newsagency & Gifts, Sage and Clover, The Coffee Incident, Central Hotel, Timbs Pharmacy, Amcal Pharmacy, Furnished in Glen, The Local, Coles and Woolworths.
Steam engines, trucks, tractors, cars and motor bikes caught people’s attention while they munched on their sausage in bread or CWA’s scrumptious scones and slices. Some people were able to purchase healthy succulents at bargain prices.
