The Glen Innes Art Gallery is inviting locals to get involved in the region’s arts community, with its Annual General Meeting set to take place later this month.
Established as “a gallery of excellence, created by the community for the community,” the Glen Innes Art Gallery Incorporated provides a venue for the exhibition of both local and travelling art and craft.
The gallery’s strong community of artists and art lovers plays a key role in ensuring the local art scene continues to thrive and grow. Through exhibitions, workshops and events, the gallery offers opportunities for artists to showcase their work while giving residents and visitors the chance to experience a wide range of creative expression.
As a small regional gallery, Glen Innes Art Gallery hosts regular exhibitions, with a new display opening almost every month. There is always something new to see for those who have not visited recently.
The gallery’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, March 16 at 5.30pm in the William Gardner Conference Room at the Glen Innes Severn Learning Centre, 71 Grey Street.
Gallery president Raelene Watson said the meeting is an opportunity for community members to learn more about the gallery and get involved.
“We would love to have new members and committee members from all artistic mediums,” she said.
Potential new members, artists and anyone interested in supporting the local arts community are welcome to attend the AGM.
