Glen Innes News Needs You!

Have you ever thought about getting involved in our local newspaper?

As Glen Innes News continues to grow, so does our need for enthusiastic volunteers to help keep independent local news thriving in our community. We’re inviting community members to a General Meeting open to the public where you can learn more about how the News has evolved since launching in 2024, meet our new Management Committee, ask questions, and discover the many ways you can get involved. Whether you have a couple of hours a fortnight or a little more time to spare, there’s a role for you.

We’re currently seeking volunteers in areas including: • Editorial and content creation • Advertising and sponsorship • Accounting and bookkeeping • Technology and IT support • Grant writing and applications • Distribution and delivery • Reporting to regulators and grant funders

You don’t need previous experience—just an interest in supporting a community-owned newspaper. Many volunteer roles can be done flexibly around work, study, family and other commitments. Whether you’d like to write a story, help sell advertising, provide admin support, assist with layout, or deliver papers once a fortnight, we’d love to hear from you.

General Meeting 📅 Tuesday 23 June 2026 🕠 5:30pm – 7:00pm 📍 Remembrance Room, Glen Innes Services Club

After the meeting, those who wish can stay on for dinner and continue the conversation. Come along, meet the team, and find out how you can help keep local news alive and growing in Glen Innes. Everyone is welcome.
