The Glen Innes Bowling Club’s much-loved Rose Carnival celebrated its 68th year in fine style, drawing bowlers from across the state — and beyond — for a weekend of top-quality play, camaraderie, and community spirit. With a total prize pool of $6,000, the three-day event was a major drawcard for bowlers from 21 clubs including Mooloolaba, Coolum Beach, Blakehurst, Redcliffe, Millmerran, Warwick, Tenterfield, Raymond Terrace, Forster, Stanthorpe, Maclean, Coffs Harbour, Urunga, Woolgoolga, Inverell, Guyra, and Bingara. Glen Innes Local Returns Home From Lawn Bowls Comp In Triumph

Glen Innes’s own champion lawn bowler, Paul Jopson, has returned in triumph from the Australian National Titles held in Tweed Heads from 11-15th October.  As a member of the New South Wales team, he came away with a second in the men’s competition and with best performed state (men and women combined). Paul stated that it was a “totally awesome team event”, and he’s looking forward to the 2025 National Titles to be held in Tasmania.
