The staff of AMCAL Glen Innes are looking forward to continuing their relationships with the residents of the town and are pictured soon after the handover of the business to its new owners. Pictured back row (l to r) are, Taylor Symons, Pharmacist Mylene Bagasin, Jodie Snow, Ruth Brummell and Sally Worth, and front row (l to r) Phoebe Millar, Kerrie Zahner, Pharmacist Alyce Northey, Pharmacist Jenni Jackson, and Naomi Bain. Unavailable for this picture were Emily Knox (maternity leave), Rebecca Skinner, Matilda Seiber, Grace Fitzgerald, Carol Marshall and Sienna McConnell.

The staff, friendly service and range of stock stay the same, but watch for new professional services. Regular customers of the AMCAL pharmacy in Glen Innes may not have noticed many changes since the new owners took over last week but there are new services in the wind.

Jenni Jackson, Alyce Northey and Mylene Bagasin officially took over last week. All three are familiar faces in the pharmacy, having worked with the Graydons who were the previous owners, and all three are fully qualified pharmacists.

three pharmacists
These new owners of Amcal Glen Innes will be familiar faces to regulars at the
pharmacy; (l to r) Alyce Northey (Nee Kempton), Mylene Bagasin and Jenni
Jackson, all of them registered pharmacists and residents of Glen Innes.

Alyce is a Glen Innes local and a member of the well-known Kempton family here, she was trained in Armidale and married in Tamworth before “migrating” back to Glen Innes to join Jenni Jackson whom she had known for many years.
She has been looking to purchase a pharmacy since 2018 and her casual work at Graydons convinced her that this was the place in which to invest.

Jenni in fact qualified after training in Adelaide and has 45 years of community experience behind her. Mylene has more than 17 years of experience in community pharmacy and has been the Manager/Pharmacist-in-Charge at Graydons since 2021.  Mylene trained in the Philippines, moved from Sydney several years ago, and fell in love with the people of Glen Innes whom she describes as “lovely”.  Mylene said pharmacy ownership has for a long time been a male-dominated realm.  Her time working as a locum convinced her that she had what it takes to make a success of ownership, particularly having made so many good friends here at Glen Innes.

The most obvious change at the pharmacy will be in the opening hours which will be brought forward to 8:30am and extend to 5:30pm.

The new owners will be spending the first weeks of their new venture thoroughly investigating the addition of new professional services which will support the town’s GPs and the community as a whole.
