Moylan Report

THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO SUPPORT OUR FARMERS AS DROUGHT WORSENS Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan has called on the Minns Labor Government to start supporting regional communities with more than 70 per cent of his electorate now classed as drought affected. The NSW Department of Primary Industries’ Combined Drought Indicator map indicates the drought status of the entire state. Currently more than 50 per cent is drought affected but Mr Moylan said the government has failed to acknowledge the seriousness of the problem. “I have been banging on doors and doing everything I can to get the government to…

The Moylan Report 31 March 26

EASTER BUNNY AND HIS MATES CAUSING CHAOS BUT AG MINISTER IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND NSW Shadow Minister for Agriculture Brendan Moylan says the Easter Bunny might get a warm welcome next weekend, but farmers and regional communities across the state aren’t so lucky thanks to a State Government who appears to have taken an extended Easter break.  New reports confirm what farmers already know - rabbit populations are booming again, fuelled by perfect seasonal conditions and growing resistance to outdated virus controls.  The ABC has highlighted surges across southern NSW, while the SMH warns the nation is “defenceless” against the next wave of…

100th year Anniversary: All Saints Anglican Church Torrington

History of Torrington All Saints Anglican Church “Ä symbol of endurance and Community Spirit” As far back as 1948 preparations were being made for the construction of this Church. Then known as The Church of England, (changed to Anglican Church in 1981) services were being held in homes. Much fund raising was done with dances, plays, fancy dress competitions & sports days where home made cakes & pies were on sale. Quite a few locals had musical instruments so music could be heard around most events. A young man by the name of George Trewhella (called Ginger George because of…

The Moylan Report – Feral Pigs and Feral Fuel

FERAL PIGS RUN RIOT WHILE THE GOVERNMENT RUNS ANOTHER REVIEW I almost have to laugh. The Minns Labor Government has announced……wait for it…….a “review” into feral pigs. Because obviously what millions of 100-kilo breeding machines tearing up regional NSW really fear is a discussion paper in Macquarie Street. Last week I drove from Armidale to Moree at night, about 250 kilometres of quality agricultural country. Between Bundarra and Bingara alone I counted 21 deer. Across the full trip? Nine foxes and at least 50 pigs. Between Bingara and Gravesend the pigs were so thick in places they were impossible to…
