TAS Principal Ray Pearson congratulates Glen Innes district students Ella Vidler and Brooke Tudor on their leadership roles at TAS.

TWO students from the Glen Innes district will be setting the tone and spirit of The Armidale
School into 2026, having been inducted to key leadership positions this term.
Ella Vidler of Emmaville is a School Prefect and Brooke Tudor of Dundee is Captain of Nina
Macdonald House and Captain of Equestrian.

The students were presented with their badges at an induction ceremony at TAS on the first day
of Term 4.

Ella has represented the school in rugby, shared her views on regional youth issues as a delegate
to the NSW Legislative Council Youth Forum and was recently a delegate to the international
conference of Round Square, a global association of schools that share values of adventure,
challenge and service, in Dubai.

Brooke has also benefited from the global outlook of TAS, volunteering on a service trip to St
Christopher’s Orphanage in Fiji and having a term on exchange to Felsted School in England,
and is currently gaining her bush fire-fighter accreditations with the School’s Rural Fire Service
program. She is a committed and talented equestrian who has competed in various
competitions including representing TAS at the North West Equestrian Expo at Coonabarabran
and the Inter-Schools Horse Extravaganza (ISHE) at Tamworth.

At the ceremony, Principal Ray Pearson said at the heart of good leadership was service.
“Service should never be something required by the School. It should be something you choose
because it reflects who you are and what you stand for,” he said.

“Leadership is service. Today, I congratulate those on stage for choosing to serve. You now have
the opportunity to shape the culture of TAS and to leave a legacy through the time and effort
you give in what will be your final, and perhaps most memorable, year here. The kind of
leadership we value here is confident but humble; strong but respectful.

“As John Quincy Adams once said, ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do
more, and become more, you are a leader’.”
