Rebuild the Guild

Glen Innes showed its strong community spirit last weekend as the Glen Innes Musicians’ Society (GIMS) launched Rebuild the Guild to a fantastic reception at the historic Chapel Theatre.

Over 270 people came through the doors across the two performances – packing the venue for a vibrant celebration of local talent.

Hosted by Jeff Manning, who also performed a couple of his own original songs, the all-local line-up included Naomi Bain, Suzy Meyer, James Flinn, Laurie Newsome, Katie Randall, Christine Davis, Lauren Sigvartsen, Catie Turner, Bree Geach, Tahleia Gerlofsma, Kat Sharman, and the tight house band of Williams, Duddy, Flinn & Howell featuring special guest guitarist DeWyntre.

The shows were packed with heartfelt songs, standout performances, and plenty of feel-good energy that had the audience cheering and singing along. Many in the crowd are still riding “the Blues Bus” – one of Laurie Newsome’s catchy originals.

The event marked an exciting new chapter for live music in Glen Innes, proving there is strong local appetite for quality homegrown performances. The atmosphere was electric, with friends, families, and music lovers of all ages enjoying a memorable night out.

A huge shoutout to Rico from Gig Guitars, whose vision to revive the Guild and generous sponsorship made the event possible. Without his drive and support, this wouldn’t have happened.

A massive thank you to everyone who supported the event – your turnout made it a huge success. Hoodies are still available for sale on our website (gleninnesmusos.com.au) or at Gig Guitars (117 Ferguson Street, Glen Innes)
