All letter writers must provide their full name, address, and phone number. Only your initials, surname, and suburb will be published; however, this information is required to verify identities and maintain trust with our readers. We will not print letters without the author’s details unless there is a good reason not to – such as a letter from a whistle-blower, or someone in a hazardous personal or legal situation. If you want your details withheld from publication, please let us know and also advise us of the reason that you want these details withheld when you submit your letter. You will still need to provide your name and address to us in order for your letter to be published.
If submitting on behalf of an organization or business, a work address is acceptable, but letters under pen names are generally not published.
Letter writers are also asked to disclose any relevant affiliations, such as membership in political parties, lobby groups, activist or pressure groups.
