Conversations with Councillors will be held at the Highlands Hub each month

Glen Innes Severn Council is introducing a new opportunity for residents to meet and speak directly with their elected representatives.

The initiative, Conversations with Councillors, will be held on the third Thursday of each month from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Glen Innes Highlands Hub.

The first session is scheduled for Thursday, 18 September.

Council said the monthly event will provide a chance for residents to share ideas, ask questions and raise local issues in an open and respectful setting.

“Come along and chat directly with Councillors, share your ideas and feedback, ask questions, and discuss local issues,” Council said in its announcement.

All community members are welcome to attend.

Mayor Margot Davis said “I’m pleased to announce our new initiative, “Conversations with Councillors”, which will give our community regular opportunities to meet directly with your elected representatives. These sessions will be child-friendly and business-friendly — so whether it’s after school with your kids or after you’ve closed up shop for the day, we want to make it easy for you to come along. This is about creating an open, respectful and transparent dialogue with the people you’ve elected to represent you, as we work together to shape a thriving future for our community. Bring your ideas, your questions, and your suggestions — or simply come for a chat — and let’s build stronger connections and shared understanding as we live and work side by side in this community.”

For those unable to join the sessions, Councillors can still be contacted directly, with details available on the Glen Innes Severn Council website: www.gisc.nsw.gov.au/Councillors
