If you’ve seen a film version of John Buchan’s classic story, prepare to be surprised. This production is not a straight thriller, but a fast-paced, comedic spoof packed with laughs.
The cast navigates rapid-fire scene changes, costume swaps and different accents with glee. The sheer effort behind the production is evident—from the impressive sets and lighting to the cleverly crafted costumes that deliver both style and humour.
Jacob Robinson leads as Richard Hannay, “an ordinary fellow caught up in extraordinary events,” delivering a high-energy performance that rarely leaves the stage. He is supported by a vibrant ensemble—Kat Sharman, Nigel Brown, Sari James, John Rhys Jones, Selina Sharman, Denis Haselwood, Millie Clifford, Anton Covre, Shelby Hayden, Frankie Sharman and Lucy Miller—many of whom juggle multiple roles.
Behind the scenes, the production team has created a visually inventive and engaging experience. Director Lauren Elise brings flair and imagination, supported by Nigel Brown (Assistant Director), Julie Miller (Producer), Marty Williams (Stage Manager), Will Geach (Sound Manager), Mark Davidson (Lighting Manager), Owen Windred (Projectionist), Viv Williams (Costumes), Michelle Cullen (Props Designer), Sari James (Makeup), and Bree Geach (Publicity).
One of the joys of local theatre is seeing familiar faces take to the stage and give their all to entertain their community.
A big thank you to the cast and crew for a fun production—don’t miss your chance to see it. Book your tickets now!
