The Glen Innes Jockey Club has announced that the Glen Innes Cup Race Day, traditionally held in January, has been rescheduled to Saturday, 10 May 2025. This year’s event was postponed due to unsuitable track conditions following heavy rainfall.

Cassandra Hill, Publicity Officer at the Glen Innes Jockey Club expressed enthusiasm about the new date, stating, “This is very exciting for the Jockey Club but also for the Glen Innes community. We are really looking forward to it and hope that the community can come together and get behind and support it.”

Hill also highlighted the novelty of a winter race meeting, saying, “Traditionally our Glen Innes Cup day is in January, so a summer meet. This will be different being a winter meeting which will be great and something different for our town and community.”

The Glen Innes Cup is a significant event for the local community, offering a blend of horse racing, fashion, and vibrant social activities. The rescheduled date provides an opportunity for attendees to experience the races in a winter setting, a departure from the usual summer vibe.

Further details about the activities planned for the new race day will be shared with readers as information becomes available.
