Residents across the Hunter and New England regions are being encouraged to share their views on a proposed restructure of the local health district.
Submissions are now open for the inquiry into the Health Services Amendment (Splitting of the Hunter New England Health District) Bill 2025, which seeks to divide the existing Hunter New England Local Health District into two separate entities—the Hunter Local Health District and the New England Northwest Local Health District.
The Bill has been referred to the Legislative Assembly Committee on Community Services, which will examine how the proposed changes would be implemented, along with the potential benefits and challenges.
Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan has urged residents to take the opportunity to provide feedback on the future of healthcare services in the region.
“I encourage the public to outline their concerns and make a submission to the committee before they close on 12 April,” Mr Moylan said.
“Now is the time for members of the Northern Tablelands community to have their say on the future of healthcare in the region.”
Submissions can be made via the official inquiry page on the Parliament of NSW website.
