New Taxi Service for Glen Innes

Many people in Glen Innes will already know Ricky Thomas from his dual roles working at the Commonwealth Bank and, for the last six years, driving one of the taxis around Glen Innes.

As of 1st July, Ricky will be extending the taxi service by making it his own, Rick’s Taxis Glen Innes.  He has purchased the second taxi from the previous owner and aims to augment the current service.  He hopes to offer a friendly, inclusive, and personalised service, where specialised assistance will be given if needed to the elderly, disabled and mothers with children.  Ricky is fully insured to cover all eventualities.

Initially Rick’s Taxis hours will be Monday to Thursday: 8am to 8pm, Friday 8am to 11pm and Saturday 9am to 11pm.  Ricky’s intention is to be as flexible as possible, so, if say the rail bus from Armidale is running late, if contacted, he is prepared to wait.  He will also accommodate out of hours calls if they are booked in advance.  However, these will incur a premium fare.

This is a family business.  Ricky is supported in the venture by his wife, Kylie.  Kylie already works part time in another industry, but is working towards getting her own taxi license so she can offside Ricky.  They are also anticipating their adult children eventually coming on board as well.

Their business Facebook page will be going live soon, and they will keep people updated about any changes in the taxi schedule via that medium.

A heads up – from Friday 27th until Monday 30th June, they won’t be providing a taxi service as they service the vehicle, change the signage, and do everything else needed to be ready for their start date on July 1.

Flyers, magnets and advertising are to be distributed shortly with more information.  But keep this number: 0439 25 23 26 ready for 1 July.
