On behalf of the Glen Innes Opportunity Shop team of volunteers, I would like to thank the local community for its generous support of this organisation through its wonderful donations of saleable goods.
Every dollar from every item sold goes into a ‘giveaway fund.’ The accumulated fund’s money is redistributed annually, to directly benefit our community and region and make a real difference.
The beneficiaries cover a diverse range of community groups, including aged care, arts and culture, disability, education and emergency services.
The Opportunity Shop’s mission statement: ‘turning donated goods into good donations,’ underpins our operation as a, not for profit organisation, enabling us to support the community in this way. Well over $100 000.00 has again been distributed in our 2025 giveaway.
Next year, 2026, will mark 110 years of continuous operation and service to this community!
Quite remarkable really, as it is run solely by dedicated volunteers who are from the community, working for the benefit of the community.
Its outstanding success and longevity, is, I believe, because this town and community values and maintains its loyalty to the Glen Innes Opportunity Shop.
