Legacy Badge presented to Services Club

On the 3 October, Glen Innes Legacy members Jim Berridge and Peter Brown presented a $1000 badge to the Glen Innes and District Services Club General Manager, Mr Brodie Hutchinson. The funds from the badge purchased by the Services Club will help Legacy support locally the families of Australian Defence Force personnel who lost their lives on active service or in training for it. On October 3rd to 6th the WKKF Koshiki Karate World championships were held in Brisbane. Representing 13 countries, over 200 competitors put their best foot forward to bring home World rankings. Karen & Isobel King from the Glen Innes branch of the Jin Ryu Kan dojo attended the World Championships representing both Glen Innes and Australia along with other locals Shihan Lisa Marshall, Sensei Fay Rees and Sensei Layletta Williams-Boney. A total yarding of 975 head went under the hammer at the Sheep and Lamb Sale of 7 October ‘25 The usual buying gallery was in attendance, though notably without TFI, with continued and steady support from the local and travelling sheep traders. The mutton market continues to show resilience, holding firm across both export and store categories, bolstered by solid trader demand. You couldn’t have asked for better weather for the Glen Innes Spring Show Jumping Championships — three glorious, sun-drenched days that showed off our Showground in all its springtime splendour. Over the October long weekend, 81 riders took to the arenas for more than 740 jumping rounds of action, skill, and sportsmanship. Competitors travelled from far and wide — from Cairns, Central Queensland, and Toowoomba, across to Grafton and Lismore, west to Moree, and as far south as Newcastle.
