On behalf of the whole team at the Glen Innes News, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the people of Glen Innes and District for your fabulous support throughout the year—your encouragement, your scoops, your stories, and your wonderful photos. We love knowing what’s happening across our community, and we know you value this too. That’s the strength of truly local, independent media: sharing our lives, our joys, and the challenges of living in regional Australia.
Our paper and online website is powered entirely by volunteers—from the management committee and editorial team to advertising sales, design, and delivery. This year especially, many of our volunteers juggled multiple roles—writing a feature article one day and delivering papers to the villages the next. Most of us are new to newspaper work and have learned on the job, which is why we warmly encourage others to join in. There are many ways to contribute, some requiring only a little time. If you have an idea, we’d love to hear it. We can help shape a role that suits you.
We are proud that everyone can access our free local news service, whether online with frequent updates or through our fortnightly print edition. We work hard to keep it this way, supported enormously by your grants and donations. We are most grateful to the organisations, businesses AND individuals that have supported us in so many ways: through sponsorships, advertising and donating small change and occasionally significant dollars into our collection boxes or directly into our bank account.
If your circumstances allow, would you consider including a small financial gift to support The News? Your donation will help us continue delivering local journalism throughout 2026. If you’re able to contribute, deposits can be made directly into our Regional Australia Bank Account: Name – Tablelands Community Media Inc. BSB – 932000 Acc – 100538409
Print issue 25, hit the stands on 18th December and is our last for 2025, as we too join the conga line to Mulligan’s Hut, the river or the beach—or at least to the backyard—to relax with loved ones.
Our next print edition will be out on 8 January 2026. As time permits we may be posting online between now and the 8th January.
We wish you good health, happiness, and prosperity in the coming year.
Merry Christmas and thank you for being part of the Glen Innes News community.
