On the 2nd November, the Glen Innes Art Gallery was proud to induct our first patrons.
Mr Howard Eastwood, not only a sponsor, previous committee member and volunteer, had also been on the steering committee after the first public meeting held by the then Mayor, Mr Bob Dwyer.
Mr Denis Haselwood, a very well-known supporter of the arts, committee member and volunteer was also inducted. Denis has been on the committee for quite a while and is a great supporter of other committee members and helps with the Fine Arts and Photography sections of the Glen Innes Show.
Mrs Patricia Turner will be inducted on January 31st at our second exhibition of the year. Patricia is a previous President of the committee, a volunteer and continual supporter of the arts scene. Patricia has exhibited for many years as well and understands all the nuances of being an artist.
Mr Mike Gilbert, who unfortunately for us, no longer resides in Glen Innes but was a very valuable member of the committee, also being a volunteer, volunteer co-ordinator and artist. Mike is sorely missed and is continuing with his artistic endeavours at his new home.
We are currently showing the Glen Innes High School exhibition, which is a fantastic way for parents, grandparents and the public to see their works and follow their progress during their school years. This exhibition will end at 1pm on Friday 19th December.
We are also for the first time, holding an exhibition for the Fine Arts class of the Glen Innes TAFE campus under tuition of Mr Steve Wright. The gala will be held on Saturday 10th January at 4pm and will continue for the week ending on Friday 17th January 2026.
Anyone interested in exhibiting can follow us on Instagram and facebook for the new calendar of exhibitions or call into the gallery and pick one up. We are getting busy organizing the Fine Arts Section of the Glen Innes Show.
