A total yarding of 1,654 lambs and sheep for this fortnightly sale. With a range of quality present through the yards, the market was down slightly from the all-time high we saw last fortnight.
Although multiple re-stockers and the usual buying crew (with Fletcher International out), the job across the board was down by $15-$20 from the previous fortnight.
The well covered, Heavy XB lambs were down slightly from the previous sale, but still ranging from $235-$330. Well covered but lighter weight lambs were still strong, ranging from $195-$240. Woolly, but well covered XB lambs were valued $165-$220. Good framed, store XB lambs sold from $105.50-$135. First cross ewe lambs going to re-stockers in the local area, paying between $227-$269 per head. Heavy and good conditioned Dorper/Aussie white lambs fetched from $230-$300 with the lighter cut but good conditioned lambs ranging from $165-$225. Forward-store Dorpers fetched $120-$136.
XB and Aussie White hoggets, heavy and well conditioned, ranged from $150-$220. Merino hoggets reached between $115-$120.
Heavy XB ewes ranging from $150-$235. Heavy Dorper/Aussie white ewes hit a high of $228 and descended down to $170. Well covered Merino Ewes made between $120-$140, with Merino wethers ranging from $127-$148. Re-stocker competition on the Store XB and Merino ewes saw reasonable prices from $60-$133. Poor condition store sheep made $40.
The Merino rams made $58 and the Dorper rams fetched $70.
