Poking cattle around one day......National Champion the next. Local young lady, Lali Alt has taken out National Champion. Competing in the Southern Cross Feeds EA Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships Lali brought home the Intermediate rider 12,13,14 years Champion representing NSW and  riding Kolbeach Cowboy, owned by Lali. The event held at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre Victoria ran from 4 - 6th December 2025 Lali, who was featured on the front page of Issue 19 of the Glen Innes News in September, has been recognised for her dedication and amazing horse skills in taking out this prestigious award. …

Zone 13 Glen Innes Pony Camp 2024 – Done and Dusted

From 29th Dec 2024 to 4th January 2025, 61 equestrians from 2 to 25 years gathered at the magnificent Glen Innes Showground for a week of horsemanship and friendship. Sportsmanship and citizenship are core values of the Pony Club. ‘Retired' equestrians, including Grandparent, Parents and Volunteers are as much a part of this annual event as the riders. For nearly 70 years these loyal helpers help set up Judges’ tents, sound equipment, arenas, jumps, poles and barrels and then quickly dismantle them. Meals are provided by a band of dedicated people.
