Regional Australia Bank (RAB) has once again demonstrated its strong community focus, distributing more than $2.8 million to over 2,500 community organisations through its annual Community Partnership Program (CPP).

At the Glen Innes Bowling Club on Tuesday night, representatives from 87 local organisations gathered to celebrate the impact of this year’s funding. The Glen Innes Leo Club emerged as the top local recipient, receiving more than $8,000, while the Glen Innes branch contributed an impressive $125,100 in total to community causes.

RAB CEO David Heine addressed the gathering, speaking passionately about the “good that money can do when combined with hard work and enterprise.” He also highlighted RAB’s unique commitment to giving back, noting that the bank donates around 13% of its after-tax profits to community programs — a stark contrast to the 0.6% typically given by larger commercial banks.

Mr Heine also discussed the bank’s proposed merger with Summerland Bank, based in Lismore, which shares similar philanthropic values. “While the big banks are retreating from regional areas, we’re expanding our presence,” he said.

As a customer-owned bank, RAB’s customers are its only shareholders, ensuring profits are reinvested for member benefit rather than external investors. Staying true to its mission to be “a trusted bank for regional Australians,” RAB continues to reinvest  into community initiatives, helping strengthen the towns and people that make regional Australia thrive.

Any non-for-profit organisations in Glen Innes or surrounding communities that would like to start banking with RAB and become a part of our Community Partnership Program,  are more than welcome to visit the Glen Innes branch, at any time, to ask any questions they may have.IMG 0265 IMG 0268 IMG 0275
