Nominations are now open for the 2025 Australia Day Awards.
Each year the Glen Innes Severn Council Australia Day Committee proudly presents several awards at an Australia Day ceremony to recognise the voluntary achievements of fellow citizens, community groups and community events by acknowledging their outstanding contribution to our community through service or community work, or through individual dedication and contribution to a particular group or the whole community, during any period of time.
Each award recipient is presented with an Australia Day Council Plaque and Certificate of Recognition.
The categories for the 2025 Australia Day Awards are:
- Citizen Of The Year
- Young Citizen Of The Year
- Community Event Of The Year
- Volunteer Community Organisation Of The Year
- Emergency Services Volunteer Of The Year
- Senior Sportsperson Of The Year and Contribution To Sport
- Junio Sportsperson Of The Year
