Glen Innes’s own champion lawn bowler, Paul Jopson, has returned in triumph from the Australian National Titles held in Tweed Heads from 11-15th October.  As a member of the New South Wales team, he came away with a second in the men’s competition and with best performed state (men and women combined).

Paul stated that it was a “totally awesome team event”, and he’s looking forward to the 2025 National Titles to be held in Tasmania.

Mr Jopson is a self taught bowler who has been bowling since 2000.  He has previous winning form.  While living in Queensland, amongst other titles, he won the Open Triples in 2010 (with Kurt Brown and Ben Twist) and compounded this by his August 2010 defeat of World number 9, Anthony Kiepe.

Paul currently works as the greenkeeper at the Glen Innes Bowls Club.
