Welcome to 2025
It is great to welcome a new year Wishing a Happy New Year to everyone across the Northern Tablelands! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday season.
2024 was a big year, and I’m excited see what’s in store for 2025. I look forward to continuing my efforts to represent and serve the communities across the region this year.
If you have any concerns or issues you’d like to discuss, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Armidale or Moree electorate offices.
Race days
It was a shame to see the weather wreak havoc on Glen Innes Jockey Club’s Cup meeting. The committee put in so much hard work. But it was great to see festivities continue with a phantom meeting taking place. Around 1000 people turned up to celebrate and have a great time. Well done to everyone involved in planning and putting the day together. Hopefully the races will go ahead in 2026!
The Deepwater Cup is in less than two weeks on 25 January. Fingers crossed the weather cooperates for them and their fantastic day can go ahead. It is another great community event and I hope people from near and far get behind it. I am very much looking forward to it.
Australia Day
Following the Deepwater Cup is Australia Day. Glen Innes is putting on a range of events including breakfast at Pinkett Hall, morning tea from 10.30 am at the Services Club followed by official ceremonies at 11.30am. If you’re in town, please get behind any of these events. The ambassador for Glen Innes is television writer and producer Peter Herbert.
Glen Innes Show
The annual show is another community event which should be celebrated. It is on February 14, 15 and 16 this year and promises to be another outstanding event.
