The local organizing committee (headed by Richard Sturtridge) is full of praise for the golfers, prize donors and the Glen Innes community for their efforts which recently raised more than $10,000, with $8,000 to be presented to the sHedway mental health program and the balance being retained to support next year’s event and other fundraising activities.
The program works towards suicide prevention and positive mental health in shearing shed personnel through professional counselling, workshops and skill sharing.
This is the heart of shed family strength and caring in action.

More than 60 donated prizes were on offer for the 39 teams (117 golfers) who competed at the Glen Innes Golf Club.
sHedway was represented by Caz Mumford who travelled from Dubbo for the event.
Visitors from Inverell, Brisbane, Sydney, Guyra and Barraba swelled the large number of locals who enjoyed not only the golf but also the Lions Club’s barbecue.
Several of the prize winners displayed great goodwill when they donated their trophies back to a central pool for an impromptu auction.
