Shearers’ Ambrose Wins Again for Mental Health
You might remember that back in December last year, our community was preparing the second ever Shearers’ Ambrose Charity Golf Day. The weather turned out to be sensational after a few rainy days. 28 teams involving 83 players took to the course and hit some impressive shots amongst enjoying icy cold beverages and juicy steak sandwiches, proudly and expertly prepared by our local Lions volunteers. Weekly Golf Wrapup
Ladies Golf 16 ladies played a stableford event on Wednesday. Winner was Julie Newsome with 40 points, backing up her win in the Par event the previous week. Runner up was Leta Kempton with a great 37 points. Pru Newby picked up the nearest the pin on the 12th. Wednesday Mens A smaller field of 18 players competed in the Wednesday Stableford. Weekly Golf Wrap Week Ladies Golf The Glen Ladies celebrated their 2-day tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday. The tournament sponsored by White Rock Wind Farm was a great success. Day 1 kicked off with a 4BBB with 118 players taking part. Winning combination was the Maclean team of Debbie Key and Kaye Grayson with 47 points in second place was the Walcha team of Sue Partridge and Pauline Carter with 45 points. Ladies Golf On a very warm day 13 ladies played the Wednesday Stableford. Winner was Julie Newsome with 38 points from Shirley Bruce with 36 on a count back from Sue Rees.
