Applications are now open for the 2025 White Rock Wind Farm (WRWF) Community Fund, providing local not-for-profit and community organisations with a funding opportunity to support a wide range of projects across the Glen Innes Severn region.
A total of $208,020.01 is available this year through the Fund. The initiative supports projects that aim to deliver long-term benefits to the economy, environment or local community.
The funding is open to organisations delivering projects in areas such as environmental conservation, cultural events, educational programs and social initiatives. The WRWF Community Fund Committee, comprising representatives from Council and the local community, will assess applications.
Funding is split into three categories:
-
Minor Projects: under $5,000
-
Major Projects: over $5,000
-
Expression of Interest: for significant, long-term projects that may require multi-year support
Preference will be given to projects located closer to the wind farm, so applicants are encouraged to identify their project’s location clearly when applying.
While the fund is broad in scope, some limitations apply. Funding is generally not available for individual applicants, ongoing operational costs, retrospective expenses, or projects with recurrent funding requirements.
Glen Innes Severn Council is managing the application process on behalf of White Rock Wind Farm. Council encourages all eligible organisations to read the 2025 WRWF Community Fund Guidelines thoroughly and complete the correct application form – each funding category has its own form – via the Council’s website.
The deadline for applications is 4:30pm on Friday, 18 July 2025. Late applications will not be accepted. All applicants will be notified of the outcome after 25 August 2025.
Local organisations are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to bring their ideas to life and contribute to the region’s ongoing development.
