GLEN INNES SEVERN COUNCIL LODGES SPECIAL RATE VARIATION APPLICATION WITH IPART

Glen Innes Severn Council has formally submitted its Special Rate Variation (SRV) application to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART), proposing a 48.3 per cent increase to general rates phased over three years. Council acknowledges clearly and unequivocally that the community does not want a rate rise. Glen Innes Severn’s Australia Day celebrations began in true country style with a “breakfast of champions” at Red Range Hall, where the Red Range Hall Committee pulled off a near-miraculous loaves and fishes effort. Locals and visitors alike enjoyed barbecued sausage and egg, steak and onion sandwiches, with generously donated steak from Rangers Valley earning particular appreciation.
