There’s something about Minerama that just feels like Glen Innes.
From 6–8 March 2026, the gem and jewellery show will once again fill the grounds of the Glen Innes Showground with colour, conversation and the unmistakable sparkle of stone. For locals, it’s a fixture on the calendar. For visitors, it’s a chance to discover why our town proudly calls itself the “Land of the Beardies.”
Now in its long tradition as one of NSW’s premier fossicking and lapidary events, Minerama draws stallholders and enthusiasts from across the country. Under the pavilions and across the outdoor sites, you’ll find everything from rough sapphires and crystals to handcrafted jewellery, fossils, gemstones and specialised lapidary equipment. Whether you’re a serious collector or simply hunting for a beautiful handmade piece, there’s always something unexpected waiting on a trestle table.
But Minerama is more than a marketplace. It’s a celebration of the region’s deep mineral heritage and the fossicking culture that has shaped the identity of the Glen Innes Highlands for generations. Demonstrations, workshops and family-friendly activities mean children can learn alongside seasoned rockhounds, and many visitors take the opportunity to try their luck fossicking at local sites while they’re here.
According to Council, the event also delivers a welcome boost to the local economy, with accommodation providers, cafés and retailers all benefiting from the influx of guests over the weekend.
Running Friday and Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and Sunday from 9am to 2pm, Minerama 2026 promises another lively, community-spirited weekend. If you’ve never been, this might be the year to wander through the gates and see what treasures you can find.
ENTRY FEES: $5 per person per day $10 weekend pass – Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Free entry for ages 16 & under.
In excess of 800 people passed through the gates on Friday and strong numbers were seen on Saturday. Traders reported solid activity, with some being “really happy”.
