Young people with an interest in cattle handling and the beef industry are invited to take part in the National Red Poll Youth Camp, which will be held at the Glen Innes Showgrounds from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 October 2025.
The event, hosted once again by the Northern New South Wales/Queensland region, is open to participants aged 8 to 25 years. The program offers a mix of practical cattle handling sessions, cattle showing experience, and informative industry tutorials.
Led by a team of experienced cattle breeders and handlers, the camp aims to provide a relaxed and supportive environment. Organisers describe it as “fun, practical, and educational”, with a focus on small group learning to ensure a hands-on experience.
The cost is $200 for Australian Red Poll Cattle Breeders Incorporated (ARPCBI) members and $225 for non-members. The fee includes accommodation, all meals from 10am Friday to 4pm Sunday, instruction, and loan cattle.
Participants under 10 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents are also welcome to visit the Glen Innes Showgrounds during the camp.
Applications close on Friday 22 August 2025. Entries can be submitted via the website: www.redpoll.au.
