Spend in Glen Returns for 2024: Shop Local and Win Big!

The popular Spend in Glen initiative is back this year, encouraging the Glen Innes community to shop locally in the lead-up to Christmas. Now in its second decade, the program supports local businesses by encouraging shoppers to buy local while giving shoppers the chance to win part of a generous $10,000 prize pool.

Running from 29th November until Friday, 20th December, the initiative offers an exciting incentive for residents to support participating businesses. Shoppers who spend a minimum of $20 in a single transaction at a participating business can enter the draw by registering their details online.

Prizes to Be Won
Three winners will share in the $10,000 prize pool, with the following prizes up for grabs:
1st Prize: $5,000 in local gift vouchers
2nd Prize: $3,000 in local gift vouchers
3rd Prize: $2,000 in local gift vouchers

The winners will be drawn at 10am on Saturday, 21st December, in the Glen Innes Town Square, adding a festive buzz to the community’s Christmas celebrations.

A Boost for Local Businesses

The Spend in Glen initiative not only rewards shoppers but also encourages local businesses to get involved showcase their products during the holiday season. Businesses can register to participate through the Glen Innes Business Chamber website. Bricks-and-mortar businesses as well as online businesses are welcome to join in.

Glen Innes Business Chamber President, Cassandra Hill said “The Spend in Glen promotion not only boosts local businesses but also encourages residents and visitors alike to shop locally, directly contributing to the vibrancy and sustainability of our town.”

Fully Digital System for Entries

The Glen Innes Business Chamber which organises Spend in Glen has announced that it has transitioned to a fully digital system to handle competition entries. This marks a change from previous years when paper entry forms were also available for shoppers.

In a post on its Facebook page, the Business Chamber has assured shoppers that they will soon be announcing dates and times when Chamber committee members will be available to assist people in person to submit their entries digitally.
