Christmas in the Highlands – Illuminations will take place in Glen Innes this Saturday, 29 November, transforming the town centre into a light-filled precinct for all ages. Glen Innes Severn Council is inviting artists, schools, clubs and community groups to submit original banner artworks for display in the Glen Innes town centre during the Christmas in the Highlands – Illuminations event. Sixteen artworks will be selected for the 2025 Christmas Art Trail, which will decorate the main streets from Saturday 29 November 2025 through to 11 January 2026. The popular Spend in Glen initiative is back this year, encouraging the Glen Innes community to shop locally in the lead-up to Christmas. Now in its second decade, the program supports local businesses by encouraging shoppers to buy local while giving shoppers the chance to win part of a generous $10,000 prize pool. Running from 29th November until Friday, 20th December, the initiative offers an exciting incentive for residents to support participating businesses.
