Welcome to Glen Innes News

Today marks an exciting beginning for us as we launch the online component of Glen Innes News, and on behalf of our team I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you for joining us on this journey. Starting a new publication is no small task, and we couldn’t have reached this point without the support, encouragement, and enthusiasm of our community.

Local news holds a vital place in any community. It connects us to each other, fosters understanding, and provides us with the information we need to make decisions in our daily lives. It celebrates our local achievements, addresses our unique challenges, and gives us a platform to voice our concerns and share our stories and experiences. Glen Innes News has been created to cover what matters most to you, highlighting the people, enterprises, businesses and events that make our town special. With community input we will strive to keep you informed about the issues that affect us all.

We’re excited to announce that starting in January 2025, a free, fortnightly print edition of Glen Innes News will be available, alongside this news website. With both print and online formats, we aim to ensure that every person in our community can access local news in a format that best suits them. Whether you’re reading on the go or enjoying the feel of a newspaper in hand, we’re here to keep you connected and informed.

Glen Innes News is a labour of love—operating as a non-profit and staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers. In order for Glen Innes News to succeed and grow, we need the support of our local community. Whether you share our stories, contribute your ideas, join our team as a volunteer or purchase advertising for your business, every bit of involvement strengthens the work we do and ensures that Glen Innes News will be a valued and vital part of the Glen Innes Highlands for now and into the future.

Our goal is simple: to bring you news that informs, stories that inspire, and a platform that amplifies the voices of our town. On behalf of everybody here at Glen Innes News, thank you for trusting us with this important mission.

With gratitude,
David Lewis
President
