The annual Celtic Festival, which draws a myriad of visitors to our town, is also the major fundraiser for the Glen Innes LIONS.
The Glen Innes LIONS club have been part of the Glen Innes community since 1953.
Funds raised by the Lions are distributed back into the community annually in time for close of financial year in June and on an ad-hoc basis. This year the Glen Innes LIONS club have committed to donate back approximately $10,000 to local community organisations at our annual changeover dinner being held on 24 June 2026. The club has also made donations to Oasis Community Gardens, The Toy Library plus events such as the Pink Ribbon Breakfast for Breast Cancer and Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea held recently at the Glen Innes Bowling club “the Bowlo”. In total during the year approximately $22,000 was returned to local community organisations.
The Glen Innes LIONS club expresses a massive thank you to the local community for their ongoing support of our club and purchase of food each time we are at events.
If you or your organisation require donations for a worthy cause either at end of financial year or during the year please provide your proposal to LIONS by way of presentation of your need or project at one of our twice monthly meetings. Calls for donations prior to end of financial year should be provided to LIONS in writing prior to end of May in the given year.
If you would like to be part of this community fundraising and organisation please contact the President on 0497265074 or the Secretary on 0474530613. Glen Innes LIONS is a worthy organisation in the community and we are revamping how best to allow members to provide time in a manner which works with busy lifestyles as well as the obligations of the LIONS. Thanks again for the support provided in 2025/26.
