The festive season has officially arrived in Glen Innes, and with it comes the much-anticipated release of the Christmas Lights Map. Organized once again by the dedicated Karen King, this cherished tradition helps locals and visitors navigate the most dazzling Christmas displays in town.
The map highlights houses across Glen Innes that have gone all out with their Christmas light decorations, creating a magical experience for families and friends to enjoy. Whether you’re a fan of twinkling fairy lights, glowing nativity scenes, or extravagant festive themes, there’s something for everyone on this year’s trail.
A second map will be released on 20th December which will include over 40 displays. A second map is released to allow for those households that might not have quite been ready in time for the first map. This is the first year that a driving route map will also be released on the same date as the second map.
Exciting Prizes for Dazzling Displays
Thanks to the generosity of numerous local sponsors, this year’s event includes fantastic prizes for standout displays. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in three categories: small display, medium display, and large display. Additionally, the coveted People’s Choice award allows the community to vote for their favourite display via the Christmas Lights Glen Innes Facebook group.
How to Access the Map
A paper copy of the map is available at the Visitor Information Centre for those who prefer a traditional guide. Digital versions can be downloaded from the Christmas Lights Glen Innes Facebook group or the Glen Innes News website, ensuring easy access for everyone.
LifeChoices Spreads the Holiday Joy
This year also marks an exciting first: LifeChoices will be taking some of their clients on a special bus tour to enjoy the lights. This wonderful initiative ensures that more members of our community can experience the magic of Glen Innes’ festive displays.
