January Update from Glen Innes Art Gallery Inc

glen innes art gallery inc

The gallery had a successful Glen Innes High School exhibition in December following from the Glen Innes Severn Library’s 70th birthday celebrations.

Our next exhibition is The Australian Summer, any medium. Entries will be taken on Tuesday 28th January between 10 and 12 at the gallery. The gala opening will be held on Saturday 1st February at 4pm. Everyone is welcome.

We have been working on the Fine Arts Section of the Glen Innes Show and thanks to the Glen Innes Mens’ Shed, we have had the easels updated with new mesh and hessian to give it a nice clean look and a sturdier hanging structure.

Entries for the Glen Innes Show will be taken in the Old Pavillion on Tuesday 11th February between 3 and 6 pm. The sections are:

  • Oils/Acrylics
  • Watercolour/gauche
  • Pastels
  • Drawing any medium
  • Open – Any medium including, digital, fibre, mixed media, wood and metal

We would like to thank the sponsors: Glen Innes Art Council, Glen Innes Services Club, Peter Grimes Celtic Art, Cameron Art Group, Patricia Turner and Glen Innes Art Gallery.

Our AGM will be held on Monday 17th March at 5.30pm in the William Gardner Conference Centre, Glen Innes Severn Learning Centre, 71 Grey St and we would like to encourage anyone interested in the arts to please attend. It is not arduous work, once a month for meetings, once a month for galas and a few other occasions during the year.

We are always looking for volunteers to help in the gallery as well. Please contact Raelene Watson on either president@gleninnesartgallery.com or by phone on 0412 250431.

President
