The NSW State Budget, handed down on Tuesday 24 June, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the redevelopment of Glen Innes Hospital.
Of the $50 million total project budget, approximately $11.1 million has already been spent — likely on planning, design, and early works, including the demolition of the old nurses’ quarters. A further $6.2 million has been allocated for the 2025–26 financial year to continue the project’s rollout.
Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan welcomed the funding, saying the region had fared well in this year’s budget compared to other parts of regional NSW.
“The Northern Tablelands has fared well in comparison to several other regional areas,” Mr Moylan said. “The last 12 months of working hard, engaging with ministers and constantly advocating for our communities every chance I have has paid off.”
While visible progress at the site has been limited in recent months, the budget allocation offers reassurance that the redevelopment remains on track, with completion expected in 2028.
Glen Innes News will continue to follow the project and report on key developments as they occur.
