Students from Years 3 to 6 at St Joseph’s Primary School travelled to Inverell on Wednesday 25 June to participate in the Toni Palmer Memorial Shield Rugby League competition.
All students who took part represented their school with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, enjoying a day of competition and camaraderie.
The senior team, made up of students from St Joseph’s Glen Innes, St Joseph’s Barraba, and St Mary of the Angels Guyra, came away with a hard-fought win in the final against Holy Trinity. The combined team had not trained or played together prior to the carnival, making the result even more impressive.
The final score was 8–4, securing the Shield for the team.
