Two Glen Innes locals have been recognised among the best in their field, named as finalists in the Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution (RFBI) 2025 Showcase Awards.
The announcement of finalists forms part of RFBI’s Aged Care Employee Day celebrations. This year, 21 individuals from across the organisation have been shortlisted for their outstanding service.
Irene Gallagher, Hospitality Manager at RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village, has been nominated in the Cook/Chef of the Year category. Her finalist status acknowledges her commitment to resident well-being through the delivery of high-quality meals and food services.
Volunteer Kevin Jones has been named a finalist for the Volunteer of the Year Award. His nomination recognises his valued contribution to the village community and his ability to build meaningful connections with residents.
Christine Kneipp, General Manager of the RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village, said the recognition was well deserved.
“I am delighted that Irene and Kevin have been recognised in these awards,” Ms Kneipp said.
“Their contribution to our village is invaluable. Irene bends over backwards to make sure our residents receive food they love and Kevin, as well as spending time with residents, is a fantastic help to our team.”
All finalists will be celebrated at a special awards night in Sydney this September, where winners will be announced in front of their peers and industry.
