The Glen Innes District Tennis Association is calling for entries to our inaugural Seniors Tennis Tournament to be held on the 8th and 9th November, 2025. Entries are open to any player over the age of 30 years with events for singles, mens/ladies/mixed doubles in various age and combined age groups. This will be a round robin tournament with events held in morning or afternoon sessions – players are welcome to play all weekend or just choose one session as they choose. Entries will close on November 3rd so don’t delay.
BBQ and canteen will be run over the weekend with breakfast available from 7:30 am. There will also be a raffle with some amazing prizes donated by generous local businesses. The club expects to attract players from around the region and further afield but would love to see plenty of local entries as well. Entry form is available on the club website and facebook page or by contacting the club at gleninnestennisclub@gmail.com
In other club news, Ladies Night Competitions are currently running on Monday and Thursday nights. Term 4 Hot Shots for the juniors has commenced with lots of smiling faces on court having fun. Social tennis continues on Saturday afternoons and Tuesday mornings.
Finally, the club is pleased to announce that pickleball is now fully catered for on Court 8 with nets and permanent lines marked out for two pickleball courts and loan equipment available when you book your court. You can try this popular new sport for just $20 per hour for up to 8 people with all equipment provided if you don’t have your own – there are even printed rules/instructions on hand. Pickleball is a really fun, low-impact sport that keeps you fit and active without requiring high levels of fitness or strength so get some friends together and give it a go.
