This year’s St Andrew’s Day promises to be a standout event on the Glen Innes calendar.
On Sunday, 30 November 2025, the festivities begin at 5pm with the Australian Standing Stones flag lowering in the garden of Crofter’s Cottage. The national day of Scotland will be marked with a short talk, a $5 raffle, slices of traditional Dundee cake, a toast to the occasion, and a stirring performance by the Glen Innes Singers as the Saltire is lowered. And yes—there will be an Address to the Haggis, complete with the sound of the pipes.
This free community gathering will be followed from 6pm by a ticketed evening hosted by Crofter’s Cottage, featuring a Scottish-themed dinner and dessert along with plenty of local entertainment. Expect songs from the Glen Innes Singers, including Flower of Scotland, a $10 raffle with quality prizes in support of the ASSMB, a lively trivia competition, and even a special bottle of Glen Gowrie Distillery “Highlands” gin up for grabs.
So dust off your tartan, bring a bottle, and keep an eye out for ticket details—this is shaping up to be one of the year’s most memorable celebrations.
The Australian Standing Stones Management Board proudly celebrates all six Celtic nations on their national days, and St Andrew’s Day is always a favourite beneath the oak and walnut trees.
