Under a cool November sky, a large and solemn gathering assembled at Anzac Park on Tuesday, 11 November, to commemorate Remembrance Day 2025. Ex-servicemen and women, students, cadets, dignitaries, and local residents gathered together in quiet reflection, united in honour of those who have served — and those who continue to serve — in defence of our nation. Six Glen Innes Vet golfers recently headed off for two weeks of Veterans’ golf in Leeton and Griffith. Leeton was the first stop, and while the course proved a little too good for our players this time, they returned with plenty of great stories and new golf friendships. Excerpts from a long article by the Examiner Special Correspondent, March 1,1920.... ‘As far back as 1878 Red Range consisted of a small store and dwelling, owner by Mr Trotter. A few settlers had come here on the properties once included in Shannon Vale Station - amongst them being Messrs D Pogson, Jno Marshall, J Taylor, Cheney and J Heaney.
