SRV submissions close 9th March

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has released Glen Innes Severn Council’s Special Rate Variation (SRV) application.

A three-week community consultation period is open from 17 February to 9 March 2026, giving residents, businesses and community stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback directly to IPART. Submissions can be made through an online survey The Survey takes about 5 minutes to complete. Written submissions can be made through the IPART’s website.

Council is seeking approval for a cumulative SRV of 48.3% over three years. The proposed 48.3% represents the total increase spread across the life of the application — not a single-year rise.

Importantly, no changes to rates will occur unless the application is approved by IPART.

IPART is the independent NSW Government body responsible for assessing SRV applications, undertaking public consultation and making the final determination.

Community members are encouraged to read the full application and have their say before the consultation period closes on 9 March. Scroll down to examine all the supporting documents.  All enquiries regarding the consultation process are being handled directly by IPART.

After 9 March, IPART will review community feedback before making its decision.
