Roobot Sculpture to Be Unveiled in Emmaville

A community event will be held in Emmaville later this month for the official unveiling of Roobot, a metal kangaroo sculpture created by Queensland artist Mick Brown. The unveiling by Mayor Margot Davis will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, 30 August 2025, at Emmaville RSL Park. A free sausage sizzle, provided by Taronga Mines, will follow the event. Glen Innes Severn Council has commissioned an independent, qualified arborist to conduct detailed assessments of local trees to enhance public safety and ensure the health of urban green spaces. This assessment has covered prominent areas across Glen Innes, including Church Street, the Main Centre, Centennial Parklands, Glen Innes Cemetery, King George Park, King Edward Park, Glen Innes Skate Park, Emmaville RSL Park, Veness Park, and ANZAC Park.
