On the 2nd November, the Glen Innes Art Gallery was proud to induct our first patrons. Mr Howard Eastwood, not only a sponsor, previous committee member and volunteer, had also been on the steering committee after the first public meeting held by the then Mayor, Mr Bob Dwyer. Mr Denis Haselwood, a very well-known supporter of the arts, committee member and volunteer was also inducted. Glen Innes Art Gallery Inc – March Update

The gallery had a wonderful exhibition with Australian Summer. Now, we have a spectacular exhibition that opened on March 10th, ‘Absolutely Abstract’ and the only thing I can say is, it is absolutely spectacular! We have new exhibitors in both painting and pottery. There are very large entries that are interesting. The colours in all the artworks are amazing! Some of our regular exhibitors have tested themselves and worked outside their comfort zone with fabulous results. Our gala, scheduled for 8th March, was postponed due to the weather. January Update from Glen Innes Art Gallery Inc

The gallery had a successful Glen Innes High School exhibition in December following from the Glen Innes Severn Library’s 70th birthday celebrations. Our next exhibition is The Australian Summer, any medium. Entries will be taken on Tuesday 28th January between 10 and 12 at the gallery. The gala opening will be held on Saturday 1st February at 4pm. Everyone is welcome. Welcome to our first column for the Glen Innes Art Gallery Inc. The GIAG has been operating since the opening of the Glen Innes Severn Learning Centre in the early 2000s. We average a new exhibition once a month and most are open to all artists of any medium except for specialised exhibitions. We also hold workshops during the year.
