You couldn’t have asked for better weather for the Glen Innes Spring Show Jumping Championships — three glorious, sun-drenched days that showed off our Showground in all its springtime splendour. Over the October long weekend, 81 riders took to the arenas for more than 740 jumping rounds of action, skill, and sportsmanship. Competitors travelled from far and wide — from Cairns, Central Queensland, and Toowoomba, across to Grafton and Lismore, west to Moree, and as far south as Newcastle. The Glen Innes Public School’s senior choir and small choral group both brought home First Place trophies from the annual Tenterfield Eisteddfod in the first week of September. The eisteddfod was held in the Tenterfield School of Arts Theatre under the watchful eyes, and ears, of London-trained adjudicator, Melissa Buchholz. Ms Buchholz teaches woodwind, piano, double bass and singing, and her students have won countless awards and scholarships (and toured and performed) all over Europe.
