Glen Innes Library Gets Into The Spirit Of Giving

Every year the Glen Innes Library supports the Glen Innes Family and Youth Support Services Christmas toy drive.

This year, the library is again offering a drop off service for new toys and books.  Donations can just  be taken to the counter where the staff will accept them and place them under the Christmas tree.

The gifts should be unwrapped and whatever value you can afford.  The library is unable to accept second hand goods, no matter what their quality.  The cut-off date for donations is Friday, 29 November.   What is special about the gift giving is that the Family and Youth Support Services make every attempt to personalise all the gifts, so that all the children receive something appropriate to their age level and needs.

Kerry Byrne, Manager of the Library and Learning Centre says, “On a personal level, I like the feeling I get from giving at Christmas and having grown-up children and grandchildren, I like the joy I receive when I go shopping for children.”

If you’d like to tap into the spirit of Christmas and the joy Kerry mentions here, please look for toys and books you can donate to the Christmas Toy Drive and get them to the library at 265 Grey Street as soon as you can.
