Hospital Auxiliary Christmas Stall a Great Success

The United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW was established in 1933 to support hospitals and
other health care centres to enhance the welfare of patients and staff. Today, the
organisation has more than 167 branches across the state, with funds raised in each
community staying within that community to support local health services.

On 6 December, the Glen Innes Branch of United Hospital Auxiliaries held its annual
Christmas Stall, which proved to be one of its most successful fundraisers to date. The
stall featured an impressive array of baked goods including cakes, biscuits, pickles,
sauces and even homemade marshmallows, along with handcrafted items and a raffle.
Branch President Edna Holder said the event enjoyed wonderful support: “Every member
of our Auxiliary contributed and brought something in,” she said. “We also had great
support from hospital staff and the wider community.”

Mrs Holder said the funds raised will be used for priorities identified in consultation with the
hospital and would help provide items which may not otherwise be available.

The Glen Innes Hospital Auxiliary is currently seeking new members. Mrs Holder
described the Auxiliary as a “good cause”. The Auxiliary meets on the second Thursday of
each month, with the next meeting scheduled for 26 February 2026 at 2pm. For further
information, interested people can contact Edna Holder on 0422 617 867.
